Homebuyers and residents in Noida and Greater Noida West are frustrated over delayed flat registries, prompting them to launch a “No Registry, No Vote” campaign ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. They’ve threatened to either abstain from voting or choose NOTA if their flat registries are not completed before the upcoming elections on April 26, 2024.

The campaign has gained momentum in various housing societies, including Gaur Saundaryam, Gardenia Glory, Futec Gateway, and others. Residents have displayed banners with the campaign slogan to politicians visiting their societies, expressing their discontent with unfulfilled promises.

One resident, Pushkar Kaushik from Gaur Saundaryam, highlighted that over 300 homebuyers are awaiting flat registries since February 2021 due to unresolved issues between the builder and authorities. Despite assurances from political leaders and government directives, no progress has been made.

Similarly, Dinkar Pandey from Ajnara Homes and Anuj Kumar Singh from Gardenia Glory shared their grievances, mentioning delays in flat registries dating back to 2016-2018. They’ve decided to boycott the elections or opt for NOTA to protest against the authorities’ inaction.

According to authorities, around 1.15 lakh stalled flat registries are pending under the Amitabh Kant committee relief package. While some progress has been made, with around 3,400 registries executed till April 5, many homebuyers remain dissatisfied.

Saumya Srivastava from Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority assured that efforts are being made to expedite pending registries, with around 1,800 executed out of 7,500 allowed in Greater Noida.

Abhishek Kumar from NEFOWA expressed frustration over the slow progress, citing unresolved issues linking flat registries with builder dues. Despite some relief measures, many homebuyers continue to suffer, leading to discontent among residents and plans to boycott the upcoming elections.
