The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has begun construction of two ramps on the Yamuna Expressway to provide direct access to the upcoming International Film City in Sector 21, officials said Thursday, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The ramps, located near Bhagpur village at the 26.4-kilometer mark from the expressway’s zero point, are part of a ₹3.5 crore project aimed at improving regional connectivity ahead of the project’s foundation stone laying, which is expected soon. One ramp will be 673 meters long and serve descending traffic, while the ascending ramp will stretch 625 meters. Both structures will feature three lanes and are expected to be completed within a year.

Currently, the Film City has no direct access to the Yamuna Expressway. The new ramps are designed to ensure seamless entry and exit for vehicles, enhancing connectivity to the project site. An underpass already built at Bhagpur is expected to further support smooth and uninterrupted traffic movement.

“This direct access is being built to ensure smooth connectivity to the Film City, which currently lacks any direct link to the Yamuna Expressway,” said Yeida Chief Executive Officer Arun Vir Singh. “Construction of the two ramps marks a key step towards enhancing the region’s connectivity and supporting the Film City’s emergence as a major creative and economic landmark in Uttar Pradesh.”

In addition to the ramps, Yeida has also provided two road links from the 130-meter-wide service road to facilitate movement related to ongoing preparations at the site.

The International Film City project, spread across 1,000 acres, will see its first phase developed on 230 acres at a projected cost of ₹1,510 crore over eight years. With land already transferred and the layout plan approved, construction activity is expected to accelerate.

Preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony are in progress. Film producer Boney Kapoor recently met with Yeida officials and confirmed that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office has approached the Prime Minister’s Office to schedule the event. Sources familiar with the matter said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone.
