In ads for projects in newspapers, magazines, brochures, leaflets, online, outdoor spaces, and social media, it’s a must to include RERA registration numbers and UP-RERA portal details.

Following the Uttar Pradesh government’s directive on real estate project advertisements, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has mandated specific guidelines for all promotional materials.

In all advertising mediums, including newspapers, magazines, brochures, digital, social media, and outdoor platforms, it is mandatory to prominently display RERA registration numbers and the UP-RERA portal details. Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy emphasized the clear, bold, and prominent presentation of these details. Non-compliance may result in actions against promoters, agents, and possible reporting of media house violations to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GOI.

Notably, a lack of adherence to the RERA Act’s provisions has been observed in real estate project promotions. Some advertisements inadequately displayed UP-RERA registration numbers and the RERA portal, with small fonts or in disclaimers, potentially escaping notice. Conversely, in certain cases, these details were prominently featured, often outside the main advertisement area.
