The Uttar Pradesh government has instructed the Noida Authority and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to cancel allotments of industrial, institutional, and IT plots that have remained vacant for an extended period. Officials familiar with the matter disclosed these directives.

The government has further mandated the authorities to conduct surveys within their jurisdictions to identify plots allotted to developers that have not been utilized, remaining vacant for an extended time.

A spokesperson from GNIDA mentioned that these instructions were issued by Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Commissioner and Noida-Greater Noida Authority Chairman Manoj Kumar Singh. This directive came after a comprehensive review meeting where the allocations of IT, industrial, and institutional plots in the Noida-Greater Noida regions were scrutinized.

The chairman emphasized the cancellation of allotments for plots held by individuals who have kept them vacant without initiating construction. The directive also instructed authorities to identify plots where a significant time has elapsed since the allotment, and the stipulated project completion period has ended. Such plots should have their allotments canceled, opening new opportunities for entrepreneurs and fostering investment in the Greater Noida region.

The meeting aimed to encourage IT, industry, and institutional investment in the Noida-Greater Noida region, reviewing plot allocations for both authorities. GNIDA CEO NG Ravi Kumar and Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M, along with other senior officials, attended the meeting.

The chairman additionally issued instructions to establish special camps for issuing occupancy certificates (OC) to allottees who have completed construction work on their plots.
