Bayview Bhutani Film City Private Limited, also known as Bayview Projects LLP, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) led by producer Boney Kapoor and construction giant Bhutani Infra, has submitted a proposed master plan for the highly anticipated International Film City near Jewar airport.
The proposed plan for the Noida Film City was submitted to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Tuesday, as reported by The Indian Express.
The film city is planned for YEIDA’s Sector 21, strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway and just 4 kilometers from the upcoming Noida International Airport. Kapoor expressed optimism about the project, stating, “We’ve developed the master plan and submitted it to YEIDA. Once the plan is approved, we will begin the construction by January.”
The first phase of the project will span 230 acres, with 75 acres dedicated to commercial development and the remaining area reserved for film industry infrastructure. The development, estimated to cost ₹1,510 crore, is expected to be completed in eight years.
The project’s contract was officially awarded in June to Bayview Projects LLP. Earlier, in January, the company had agreed to offer an 18% gross revenue share from the venture to the Uttar Pradesh government.
A key component of the project is the establishment of a state-of-the-art film institute and several studios within the initial three years of construction. Kapoor revealed that discussions are ongoing with leading filmmaking institutions globally and domestically to collaborate on this initiative.
“The institute will focus on technical training in filmmaking, acting, music, and cinematography. It will provide advanced equipment and skilled human resources to filmmakers, ultimately reducing production costs,” Kapoor said.
Kapoor envisions the film city as a self-sufficient hub for the film industry. “My plan is to provide directors a space where they can come with a script and walk out with a finished movie. All necessary facilities, from hospitals to fire stations, will be integrated. It will be a city within a city but dedicated to films,” he added.
With construction slated to begin early next year, the project marks a significant step in transforming the Yamuna Expressway region into a global destination for the film industry. The development is expected to attract filmmakers, reduce logistical hurdles, and establish Noida as a major center for cinematic production.
YEIDA’s approval of the master plan is the next critical milestone in advancing this ambitious project.
