“The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has opened registration for more than 780 economically weaker section (EWS) flats in Narela as part of its festival special housing scheme 2023”

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has commenced booking for more than 780 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) flats located in outer Delhi’s Narela area as part of its festival special housing scheme 2023. These flats, now available for sale, will be allocated on a First Come First Serve (FCFS) basis under the affordable segment category.

According to DDA officials, a total of 32,000 flats, spanning luxury, mid-segment, and affordable housing categories, will be offered in different phases under the festival special housing scheme. The recent offering of EWS flats is part of this broader initiative.

Launched in November 2023, the festival special housing scheme has already witnessed the sale of over 4,000 flats within a three-month period, as per officials.

Earlier in February 2024, the authority conducted the first phase of an e-auction for its premium flats, including penthouses in Dwarka sector 19B.

In the latest announcement, DDA has opened booking for 784 EWS category flats situated in sectors A1 and A4 within the Narela sub-city area. Registrations for these flats began on February 15 and will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Officials are optimistic about the response to these affordable units, akin to the interest generated for other categories in the past.

The prices of EWS flats will start from Rs 11.5 lakh, with the DDA also issuing online system-generated demand letters for the same.

Furthermore, interested individuals can apply for the scheme and purchase a DDA flat, even if they already own a house in Delhi. The authority revised its policy in 2023, allowing people owning a house or apartment in Delhi to participate in DDA housing schemes, aiming to boost flat sales.

The entire process, from application to allotment and possession details, will be conducted online through the DDA website (dda.gov.in/eservices.dda.org.in). Applicants can log in using their PAN and other details, select a flat of their choice in preferred localities and floors, and instantly book it by paying the booking amount.

Prior to the festival special housing scheme 2023, DDA launched a housing scheme in July 2023, offering 5,623 flats, while in 2021, the authority provided 18,000 flats across different categories.
