The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is set to launch a mobile application for e-Khata applications, aiming to simplify the process for property owners and their authorised representatives, as reported by The Times Of India.
The app, expected to be operational within 10 days, will allow users to submit applications directly from their smartphones. Officials clarified that the underlying software remains unchanged, and the current web platform has simply been adapted for mobile use.
Munish Moudgil, GBA special commissioner of revenue, said property owners will need several documents to submit a final e-Khata application. These include the property sale deed number, property tax receipt, Aadhaar number, mobile number, encumbrance certificate (Form-15), property photograph, location details, and Bescom bill number.
Bengaluru began issuing e-Khatas last year, with applications being accepted via the web, Bengaluru One centres, and cyber centres. On average, the web application processes two to three thousand applications daily, and officials expect the mobile app to further increase participation.
Since October last year, approximately 7.5 lakh final e-Khatas have been issued. The city has around 25 lakh properties, with over 24 lakh draft e-Khatas uploaded online. Property owners have already downloaded more than 15 lakh drafts, and to date, 7.59 lakh applications have been submitted for the issuance of final e-Khatas, reflecting a growing adoption of digital processes in Bengaluru’s property management.
