Ghaziabad Circle Rate Poised To Rise

    The Ghaziabad Stamp and Registration Department has proposed a significant increase in circle rates for both residential and commercial properties, ranging from 15% to 20%.

    As reported by the Economic Times, this adjustment is set to take effect on September 15. The department is currently collecting public objections and feedback, with the submission window closing on August 28.

    According to Pushpendra Kumar, Assistant Inspector General of the Stamp and Registration Department, only 20 objections have been received so far. These objections are mostly from the Modinagar area. Kumar noted that the feedback has been generally supportive of the rate increase. The department will review these objections during a meeting on August 28 to address any concerns before finalizing the new rates.

    The proposed rate hike follows a previous 20% increase applied during the 2022-23 financial year. There were no changes in the following two years due to stagnant market conditions. The new hike will result in higher stamp duty costs, which is expected to raise overall property prices. Homebuyers will face increased initial costs, and property values are likely to rise as a result.
