Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has announced that the inaugural runway of the Noida International Airport is set to be completed by the conclusion of this year. Addressing the public on Thursday, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized that substantial progress has been made in the construction of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, with the first runway scheduled for completion by the year’s end.
Regarded as the BJP’s flagship project, the Noida International Airport is poised to become the fourth largest worldwide and the largest in Asia upon its eventual completion.
During the inauguration of a new flight route connecting Lucknow and Varanasi, Chief Minister Adityanath revealed, “We anticipate Ayodhya’s airport to commence operations by the months of November or December this year. Simultaneously, the first runway at Jewar airport is on track for completion by year-end.” Discussing the upcoming aviation hub, BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh affirmed that the development process is advancing rapidly. Singh further asserted that the airport’s economic benefits will extend not only to Greater Noida but also to the entirety of Uttar Pradesh. “The construction activities at the airport site are proceeding at a commendable pace. The conducive environment ensured by the government has facilitated smooth progress in constructing the airport. This development is set to significantly enhance the economic landscape not only of Greater Noida but also of the entire western region of Uttar Pradesh,” remarked the BJP MLA representing Jewar.
In the year 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundational cornerstone of the Noida International Airport in Jewar.
Encompassing a sprawling expanse of 1,334 acres, the Noida International Airport is under the stewardship of Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swiss concessionaire Zurich International Airport AG.
