The Noida Authority has approved a dedicated six-lane expressway to provide faster access to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, as reported by TIMESPROPERTY.

The elevated corridor will span from the Okhla Barrage near Kalindi Kunj to the Yamuna Expressway and is designed to ease congestion on existing roads while offering a signal-free commute.

The total length of the proposed corridor is 37.2 kilometers. Out of this, 26.5 kilometers will be constructed as an elevated structure, while 10.7 kilometers will be at ground level. The project is estimated to cost ₹4,527 crore, as per the approved figures.

Officials said the alignment was finalized following a comprehensive survey. To streamline execution, the project will be divided into five construction packages, allowing better management and monitoring during the construction phase.

The expressway will provide uninterrupted, signal-free connectivity from the Delhi-Noida border to the Yamuna Expressway. This is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters heading to the greenfield airport under development in Jewar.

The new corridor is also expected to benefit long-distance travelers using the Yamuna Expressway, as it will bypass congestion-prone areas within Noida.

The Noida Authority will serve as the implementing agency for the project. It will handle all aspects of land acquisition, tendering, and civil construction. A detailed project report (DPR) has already been completed, and the tendering process is expected to begin shortly.

Officials plan to start groundwork and civil works within the current calendar year to align the project’s completion with the scheduled opening of Noida International Airport.

Once completed, the elevated road will act as a strategic urban connector for key locations, including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Jewar. It is projected to handle thousands of daily users and alleviate pressure on existing arterial routes.

Officials believe the corridor will also accelerate both residential and industrial growth along its stretch, serving as a critical infrastructure addition for the Western Uttar Pradesh region.

With the airport project driving rapid development in Jewar, the new expressway is seen as essential for ensuring seamless regional mobility. It is expected to not only support traffic movement to and from the airport but also open up investment opportunities in logistics, warehousing, and real estate sectors across the corridor.

The project forms part of a larger mobility strategy focused on improving transit infrastructure and supporting economic growth across the National Capital Region.
The expressway is expected to become a crucial link in the transit network between Delhi and the upcoming Noida airport. With the DPR completed and tenders set to roll out, construction is anticipated to begin later this year, aligning with the airport’s timeline.

Authorities are optimistic that the corridor will transform mobility in the region and act as a growth engine for emerging residential and industrial zones along the alignment.
