The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP Rera) has approved 21 new housing and commercial projects worth ₹7,035 crore, paving the way for the development of 10,866 residential and commercial units across the state, as published by Business Standard.
The approvals were granted Saturday during the authority’s 184th meeting, chaired by UP Rera Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, according to an official statement.
Bhoosreddy said the clearance of these projects signals strong growth in the state’s real estate sector and will help address housing needs across multiple income groups. “The approval of 21 projects, adding nearly 11,000 units, highlights the momentum of real estate growth in Uttar Pradesh,” he said. “These developments will also create significant economic opportunities for the state.”
The upcoming developments span several districts, including Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Mathura, Agra, Bareilly, Varanasi and Barabanki. The projects include a mix of residential apartments, villas, plotted developments and commercial spaces.
UP Rera noted that the projects are also expected to boost employment in construction and related industries. Several units will be reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), supporting inclusive urban development.
An official said the maximum number of projects—eight—are located in Noida and Greater Noida, followed by three in Ghaziabad. Two projects each have been approved in Lucknow and Varanasi, while one project has been sanctioned in each of the following cities: Mathura, Rampur, Agra, Bareilly, Barabanki and Gorakhpur.
