WeWork India has further expanded its footprint in India with new leases for two locations in DLF Cybercity, Gurugram, and DLF Cybercity, Manapakkam, Chennai.
As published by The Economic Times, the company has leased approximately 1.17 lakh square feet of space across two floors in Gurugram, which will accommodate more than 1,400 desks. In Chennai, WeWork has secured around 1.26 lakh square feet across two floors, providing space for more than 1,900 desks.
Both of these new spaces, WeWork Building 6 in Gurugram and WeWork Building 10 in Chennai, are set to open in Q1 2025, marking a significant addition to the company’s portfolio in two key business hubs.
In addition to these leases, WeWork India has recently opened its IWF campus in Whitefield, Bengaluru, which spans approximately 1.10 lakh square feet over three floors. The first floor serves as the main management floor, while the second and third floors are dedicated to flexible co-working spaces, designed to accommodate a wide range of businesses.
This new campus enhances WeWork’s presence in Bengaluru, a city that continues to thrive as a tech and startup hub, further solidifying the company’s position in India’s growing flexible workspace market.
With operations in eight cities across India, WeWork India now offers over 1,00,000 desks to businesses of various sizes. This expansion in Gurugram, Chennai, and Bengaluru reflects the growing demand for flexible office solutions, driven by the shift toward hybrid work models, the need for cost-effective office spaces, and the rising importance of modern work environments equipped with advanced amenities. Flexible workspaces provide businesses with the agility to scale and adapt to changing circumstances, which has made them an increasingly popular choice for companies across India.
The new locations in Gurugram and Chennai offer strategic benefits for businesses. Gurugram, as part of the National Capital Region (NCR), remains a leading commercial and business hub, attracting multinational corporations and offering excellent connectivity to residential areas and transport networks. Meanwhile, Chennai is emerging as a key location for global capability centers and technology companies, further enhancing the demand for high-quality, flexible office spaces in the city. The proximity of these spaces to major business and residential areas makes them ideal for companies looking to optimize operational efficiency and enhance employee convenience.
Looking forward, WeWork India remains committed to expanding its portfolio of flexible workspaces in key markets across India. The opening of these new spaces in Gurugram and Chennai, set for Q1 2025, will further strengthen the company’s position in the competitive commercial real estate market. By offering flexible, well-equipped office spaces, WeWork continues to cater to the evolving needs of businesses in an increasingly dynamic work environment, reinforcing its leadership in the Indian flexible workspace sector.
