The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) successfully held a lottery draw on October 18 for the allocation of 1,184 residential plots in various sectors, targeting an estimated revenue of approximately Rs 698 crore. These plots are situated in YEIDA sectors 16, 17, and 20, along the picturesque Yamuna Expressway.
YEIDA’s housing scheme, which opened on August 8 and closed on September 4, 2023, witnessed a substantial response with a staggering 1.4 lakh applicants vying for the chance to secure one of these plots. YEIDA, the primary agency responsible for executing the Yamuna Expressway Project and its associated developments in the region, oversees the residential, commercial, and industrial growth along the 165-kilometer-long expressway connecting Greater Noida with Agra.
The lottery draw encompassed seven distinct categories of plot sizes, offering applicants choices ranging from 120, 162, 200, 300, 500, 1,000, to 2,000 square meters. These residential plots were made available by YEIDA at a rate of Rs 24,600 per square meter (sq m) under this scheme, with prices for the plots varying between Rs 29.5 lakh and Rs 4.92 crore. YEIDA anticipates a substantial total revenue of around Rs 698.52 crore from the allocation of these 1,184 plots.
A YEIDA official revealed that the highest number of applications, a whopping 55,647, were submitted for the 466 plots of 200 sqm, followed by 31,130 applications for the 194 land parcels measuring 120 sqm. Additionally, 20,574 applications were received for the 260 residential plots spanning 162 sqm.
