Noida International Airport (NIA), set to open soon, has teamed up with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to introduce a 24/7 electric taxi service for passengers.

The initiative, announced Thursday, is part of the airport’s commitment to sustainability and providing world-class passenger services, as published by The Indian Express.

The service will feature electric vehicles designed to offer an eco-conscious, comfortable travel experience. According to a statement by airport authorities, passengers can book rides through multiple channels, including a mobile app, website, call center, airline partnerships, and airport kiosks.

Pick-up and drop-off facilities will be strategically located at arrival and departure curbs to minimize walking distances and ensure passenger convenience. The operational model is designed to adapt dynamically to real-time passenger demand and flight schedules, minimizing wait times and optimizing service availability.

Drivers will receive comprehensive training to familiarize them with airport protocols and customer service standards, ensuring a smooth experience for passengers.

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, emphasized the significance of the initiative. “At NIA, your journey will not end with baggage claim. We are excited to partner with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to offer a premium, all-electric taxi service. This first-of-its-kind airport-branded cab service will set a new benchmark for passenger convenience and environmental responsibility,” Schnellmann said.

The electric taxi service aligns with the airport’s net-zero emissions goal, reflecting its commitment to sustainable operations.

NIA, developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited—a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG—is designed with sustainability and global environmental standards in mind. In its first phase, the airport will operate with one runway and one terminal, accommodating 12 million passengers annually. Upon completion of all four phases, the airport is projected to handle up to 70 million passengers each year.

This collaboration with Mahindra Logistics Mobility highlights NIA’s goal of delivering a seamless passenger experience, combining convenience and sustainability.
