NOIDA — Fourteen companies, including major players in mobile manufacturing, food processing, aluminum sheet production, and packaging materials, have commenced production at their newly established units along the Yamuna Expressway near the upcoming Noida International Airport, officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) said Friday.

As published by Hindustan Times, key investors include smartphone manufacturer Vivo, which has invested ₹7,000 crore in the region, Surya Global Flexi Films Pvt. Ltd. with ₹953 crore, Avery Dennison India Pvt. Ltd. with ₹231 crore, Bikanerwala Foods Pvt. Ltd. with ₹160 crore, and Mtandt Limited with ₹48 crore.

Arun Vir Singh, Yeida’s chief executive officer, said the authority anticipates rapid industrial growth. “Considering the pace of construction, we expect at least 200 units to begin operations soon, generating jobs and business opportunities,” Singh said. He added that companies have been directed to prioritize local farmers’ children in recruitment efforts.

The anticipated launch of the Noida International Airport in April 2025 has significantly boosted investor interest. To date, Yeida has attracted ₹3.3 lakh crore in investments, allocated 3,041 industrial plots, registered 1,553 industrial plots, and sold 1,880 acres of industrial land. Of these, 980 allottees have taken possession. Officials estimate the creation of approximately 450,000 jobs once all units become operational.

Avery Dennison, located in Sector 32, became the first company to start production on March 13, 2023, manufacturing self-adhesive materials such as stickers and labels. Surya Global followed, beginning operations on August 28, 2023, at its Sector 29 facility, producing flexible packaging films.

Vivo Mobile India Pvt. Ltd. started production at its Sector 24 plant on October 21, 2024, focusing on mobile phones, hardware, and software components. The company plans an additional investment of ₹15,000 crore in the future. Bikanerwala Foods Pvt. Ltd. commenced operations on October 19, 2024.

Mtandt Limited began manufacturing aluminum scaffoldings, sheet fabrications, and plastic mouldings in Sector 32 on September 17, 2024. Between September 2024 and January 2025, seven more companies started operations, investing between ₹1 crore and ₹10 crore in sectors such as garment production, electric cables, bakery products, and packaging materials.

Patanjali Group is poised to become the 15th operational company in the region, launching a 17-acre biscuit plant in April 2025. The group plans to open a 65-acre food processing facility in May and a 50-acre milk processing plant with a capacity of 1 million liters per day by year-end.

Rishabh Nigam, president of the Yamuna Expressway Entrepreneur Association, described the developments as promising. “These operational units will benefit all investors in the region. However, Yeida must enhance supporting infrastructure, including water supply, electricity, roads, parks, public transportation, and policing,” Nigam said.

With the Noida International Airport’s inauguration on the horizon, the Yamuna Expressway region is expected to witness accelerated industrial growth, transforming it into a major economic hub in the coming years.
