The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) will launch a new project application portal on May 5, designed to simplify and streamline housing project registrations, extensions, and corrections, the authority said in a statement, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The upgraded portal will enable registered developers and promoters to apply for new project registrations, seek extensions on project timelines, and submit corrections to existing records. It will also support tracking and submission of applications, creating a more efficient and transparent process for stakeholders.

MahaRERA clarified that applications already submitted through the current portal—whether for registration, extension, or correction—will remain unaffected. These ongoing requests will continue to be processed within the existing system and do not require reapplication.

“This is only applicable to registered developers and promoters,” the authority said in a statement. “The system for homebuyers and agents remains unchanged.”

The regulatory body has also urged all developers—both those already registered and those new to the sector—to ensure that their profiles are complete and up to date on the new portal. The authority emphasized the importance of accuracy in the data submitted and confirmed that no charges will be levied for updating information.

Sanjay Daga, founder and CEO of Anex Advisory, praised the move, stating that the revamped portal would significantly boost transparency and efficiency in Maharashtra’s real estate sector.

“The updated MahaRERA portal enhances transparency and efficiency within Maharashtra’s real estate industry by offering features such as detailed floor-wise apartment information, an improved user interface, and a system for tracking complaints,” Daga said. “It guarantees precision, responsibility, and prompt resolution of grievances, thereby optimizing processes and minimizing delays. This represents progress towards a more transparent and efficient sector.”

The launch of the updated portal marks a major step in MahaRERA’s efforts to modernize real estate regulation and improve service delivery to stakeholders.
