The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has unveiled plans to develop a Golf City in Sector 22F, near the upcoming Noida International Airport, as part of its long-term vision under Master Plan 2041, as reported by Hindustan Times.
The 650-acre project will feature a championship-level golf course surrounded by select residential, commercial, and institutional developments. Global consultancy firm Ernst & Young has been appointed to conduct the feasibility study and prepare a detailed project report.
“This initiative is aligned with Yeida’s Master Plan 2041 and focuses on green infrastructure and recreational development,” said Shailendra Bhatia, officer on special duty at Yeida. “We have engaged an agency to assess the feasibility of building a Golf City in Sector 22F.”
The proposed Golf City is among the first major recreational developments under the new urban plan. In addition to the golf course, the site may include a sports club, pro-shop, training center, swimming pool, hostel, restaurant, and multipurpose hall. Residential facilities for players, trainers, and sports students are also being considered.
Yeida’s broader vision aims to create an eco-friendly urban landscape featuring green belts, public parks, and recreational zones. Under Master Plan 2041, roughly 5,544 hectares—or about 14.8% of the planned urbanisable area—have been designated for green use. This includes over 1,000 hectares allocated specifically for recreational activities such as sports fields, walking trails, and theme-based parks.
“These initiatives are designed to promote outdoor recreation for all age groups, improve quality of life, and build a vibrant community,” said a Yeida official.
Beyond Golf City, Sectors 22 and 23 are set to be developed into a comprehensive recreational hub. Plans are underway to establish an Olympic City featuring sports complexes and training facilities, along with an Olympic Village to house athletes. Officials believe this integrated development could enable the region to host international sporting events and bolster its position as a global destination for sports and leisure.
