The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has acquired more than 5,200 acres of land over the past five years. This acquisition supports upcoming development projects around the Noida International Airport. The airport is expected to begin operations shortly, as reported by Hindustan Times.
The authority is preparing a land bank for the creation of four new sectors — 4A, 5, 5A, and 11. These sectors will feature a mix of residential, industrial, and institutional projects.
YEIDA officials confirmed that the planned sectors will include themed developments. These include a Korean City, Japanese City, and Fintech City. These cities are aimed at attracting international investment and providing specialized infrastructure for targeted industries. The authority announced plans to acquire an additional 5,000 acres of land. They will do this directly from about 2,000 farmers. The acquisition will occur through a voluntary sale process.
“We are talking to farmers and taking land from those willing to sell it,” said Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA. “We have bought 5,200 acres in the last five years, and the land purchase will continue.”
According to the development blueprint, Sector 4A will house the Korean City over 365 acres. The Japanese City is planned in Sector 5A on 395 acres. Sector 11 will accommodate the upcoming Fintech City in 750 acres. Sector 5 will primarily be used for group housing. It will also include residential developments. In addition, it will have essential social infrastructure such as a children’s home and an orphanage.
YEIDA said that multiple land-use provisions will be introduced in the Japanese and Korean cities. These provisions will allow industrial, residential, commercial, and institutional developments within the same zones. This will enable the construction of residences, hotels, shopping malls, office spaces, and more to promote self-sufficient urban ecosystems.
“The aim is to provide all necessary facilities within the city, ensuring that Japanese citizens feel at home while preserving their culture,” Singh added. “With the airport becoming operational soon, we are now working to bring all these major projects into reality.”
The Noida International Airport in Jewar is expected to significantly accelerate economic development in the region. YEIDA’s land acquisition and planning initiatives are positioned to capitalize on this momentum.
