The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has called for public input on its proposed New Agra City project. They will gather feedback before initiating on-ground development. Officials mentioned this on Sunday, as published by Hindustan Times.

YEIDA has prepared a draft zonal plan for the project. The plan is expected to span roughly 12,000 hectares along the Yamuna Expressway near Agra. Officials said suggestions from stakeholders will be considered. These include the Agra Development Authority (ADA), local administration, and the public. This will happen before finalizing the blueprint.

“We have completed the draft zonal plan. The next step involves discussions with the Agra Development Authority. We will also engage with other stakeholders to finalize it,” said YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh. “Once the zonal plan receives approval, we’ll begin groundwork. We will start with the industrial zone. This zone is a core component of this green city initiative.”

YEIDA is inviting stakeholders to share their suggestions by emailing customercareyeida@gmail.com. A review meeting with the ADA and other relevant parties is scheduled for next month. If necessary, the plan will be revised to incorporate critical feedback before receiving final approval.

Planned as a sustainable and eco-friendly urban center, the New Agra City will include industrial, residential, commercial, and tourism zones. Unlike other regional projects that allow higher-pollution industries, YEIDA intends to permit only “green” category industries.

According to YEIDA, the urban center is designed to support a population of 1.45 million and create approximately 850,000 jobs.

Development of the industrial sector will take priority, with residential and commercial zones expected to follow in later phases.
