The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has begun the process to hire a consultant for designing and managing the development of a new electronics manufacturing cluster in Sector 10, near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The project is estimated to cost over ₹450 crore and will span 206 acres, as reported by The Economic Times.
According to YEIDA officials, the tech hub’s strategic location—near the Noida International Airport, the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and dedicated freight corridors—positions it as an attractive destination for both Indian and global investors. The development is expected to become a major electronics manufacturing cluster and employment generator in the region.
The entire project is slated for completion by Jan. 31, 2028. Authorities estimate it will create over 11,000 direct jobs and nearly 20,000 indirect jobs, bringing the total to approximately 31,000 employment opportunities once operational.
A major highlight of the cluster is a 50-acre parcel that has been allotted to Havells India Ltd., which will serve as the anchor unit for the project. The company plans to invest ₹800 crore in setting up a manufacturing facility that will produce items such as fans, air conditioners, switchgear, cables and lighting equipment. The unit is expected to be ready by 2026 and will generate employment for over 1,000 people in its first phase.
The Central government has approved ₹144 crore for the project under the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) scheme. YEIDA will contribute more than ₹340 crore to complete the financing. The central government approved the EMC 2.0 scheme for this project last month, with Havells officially named as the anchor investor.
“This project will not only create a robust electronics hub but also generate employment at scale,” a senior YEIDA official said.
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh called the central approval a “big boost” for the state’s ambition to become a leading electronics manufacturing destination. “Now that the Centre has approved the project, we will allot land to Havells and begin work on developing the rest of the cluster. We believe this will attract several electronics component makers and supporting units,” he said.
In addition to Havells’ 50-acre allocation, the cluster will feature 66 other industrial plots spread over 106 acres. These include 32 plots measuring 1,000 square meters, 18 plots of 2,100 sqm, six plots of 8,094 sqm, and two plots each of 1,760 sqm, 3,300 sqm and 15,176 sqm. One plot each will be available in sizes of 14,164 sqm, 20,234 sqm and 32,375 sqm.
The project has been meticulously planned, with 39 acres set aside for essential infrastructure such as roads, green belts and utilities. The remaining land will be used for industrial and manufacturing development.
YEIDA officials said the combination of government support, industrial-scale planning and proximity to major infrastructure corridors makes this cluster a compelling opportunity for electronics manufacturers seeking expansion in North India.
